The River Row condominium complex is a collection of four 3-story residential buildings adjacent to the Chatham campus of St. Clair College.

Authorized Dealer Postma Heating & Cooling installed a Reliable Controls building automation system during a retrofit of the River Row complex.

Postma Heating & Cooling commissioned a wireless monitoring and control solution in one of the four buildings. Before the retrofit, no system existed for building automation control.

Four MACH-ProZone controllers host six SMART-Sensor EnOcean Accesspoint devices that monitor space temperature and provide setpoint adjustment for hot-water heating valves in 31 condo units. Controlled mechanical equipment includes two boilers, two boiler pumps, a building pump with a variable frequency drive, and 31 modulating control valves.

EnOcean wireless sensing provided an easy, cost-effective retrofit solution compared to a standard wired installation. The local utility provider established guidelines for energy rebates at the time and estimated that up to 30 percent of the project cost could be recuperated in rebates.
