The Imperial Hotel Gold Coast welcomed its first guests as the Palazzo Versace Gold Coast in 2000, described at the time as the world’s first fashion-branded hotel. The hotel features 200 rooms, 72 apartments, a ballroom, bars, restaurants, and retail space, with luxury designs and furnishings overseen by Versace. On August 1, 2023, Palazzo Versace became the Imperial Hotel Gold Coast and began operating as an independent hotel.
Authorized Dealer Austec Building Automation installed a Reliable Controls building automation system during construction of the hotel.
Reliable Controls devices are integrated with all air-conditioning units in hotel rooms and apartments as well as air-handling units and two variable frequency centrifugal chillers. The automation system includes five MACH-Net controllers, 90 MACH1 controllers, 112 MACH-Zone controllers, and an ETHER-Link portal.
Energy management of the main power supply and generator is achieved through load shedding of all nonessential devices. The main transfer switches, substations, feeder current, generator status, stormwater drain, sewer pits, parking lot water levels, lagoon water pumps, and water quality are monitored by the Reliable Controls system. The installation also allows for high-level integration to the hotel’s paging and fire alarm systems.
