Established in 1959 as a modest outpatient clinic, today Union General Hospital is a full-service health care facility at the heart of Blairsville in Northeast Georgia. Union General has earned numerous prestigious accreditations, including Chest Pain Center Accreditation and Heart Failure Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology.
Applied Building Controls installed a Reliable Controls building automation system during a $34 million expansion and renovation of Union General Hospital. The installation included 268 controllers networked across three subnetworks, a main network, and the hospital’s Ethernet network to monitor and control the facility’s HVAC system, 800-ton chilled water plant, boiler plant, fuel system, central air-handling units, rooftop units, and air-filtration systems.
Facility managers can access the system on-site or off with RC-WebView software, a browser-based building management solution that combines the power of enterprise tools with a simple interface. When the building automation system sends an alarm, building operators are notified via text. RC-Archive software provides continuous downloads of building data to an industry-standard SQL database, delivering a robust record of performance.
The Reliable Controls system is also used to monitor medical gases and interface with the Hugs infant protection and security solution.
