Penske began in 1969 with three locations in Pennsylvania. Today the company helps thousands of customers at more than 1,300 locations across the globe with its trademark bright-yellow trucks and transportation services. Dedicated to innovation, growth, and sustainability, at the end of 2021 Penske had among the largest and most diverse commercial electric vehicle fleets in North America. In addition, Penske is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions, dedicates considerable attention to managing and reducing its waste streams, retrofits lighting in its facilities to be more energy efficient, and participates in the EPA’s Green Power Partnership, a voluntary program that encourages businesses and communities to use renewable energy.

Reliable Controls Authorized Dealer Integration & Control Solutions (ICS) installed six MACH-ProView controllers in the Penske building in Summerville, a mixed-use space with a 10-bay work garage, office, and retail area. The MACH-ProView controller, available with a color touchscreen or a companion mobile app, is a freely programmable and expandable BACnet Building Controller with an onboard thermistor and optional CO2, occupancy, humidity, and volatile organic compound sensors.

ICS chose MACH-ProView controllers to replace existing third-party devices to control exhaust fans and garage bay doors because the MACH-ProView allowed them to integrate the gas-detection system with HVAC equipment for better control of safety sequences. And each MACH-ProView supports six universal inputs, four universal outputs, two solid-state relay outputs, and up to four SMART-Net™ devices, which makes it an excellent choice for monitoring the comfort and energy performance of Penske’s unique space now and in the future.

Reliable Controls and ICS are pleased to be part of Penske’s sustainability initiatives by providing a backward-compatible building automation system that comes with factory-certified local service. We, too, are committed to minimizing waste, reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting healthy buildings around the world.
