Vaquería Tres Monjitas is one of the two producers of fresh milk in Puerto Rico. The company was founded in 1918 by a local family and today produces fresh milk and dairy products, juices and fruit drinks, and mixes for milkshakes and ice cream. It also distributes refrigerated products for other companies. Tres Monjitas is an integral part of Puerto Rico’s agriculture sector and employs more than 500 people.
Authorized Dealer UPM Group installed a Reliable Controls building automation system during construction of the new Tres Monjitas administrative office in San Juan.
The building network uses a combination of EIA-485 and Ethernet along with a BACnet gateway to integrate third-party devices. UPM Group implemented a MACH-ProWebSys controller expanded with four MACH-ProPoint modules, providing universal inputs and outputs. Data and facility information sent to the MACH-ProWebSys are accessed through a third-party touchscreen graphical user interface. RC-Studio software allows building operators to monitor and control the system to optimize occupant comfort and operational efficiency.
