Built in 1940 to train soldiers for the Second World War, today the Drill Hall Gallery is funded by the Australian National University and recognized as a heritage building. The interior was remodeled in 1984 to create an art gallery with four exhibition spaces favored by many of Australia’s leading contemporary artists, curators, and collectors.
In 2016 Reliable Controls Authorized Dealer Innovative Electrical Solutions (IES) installed a new building automation system in the Drill Hall. IES worked hard to complete the project in time for an upcoming exhibition, engineering, installation, and commissioning the system to facilitate the unique environmental conditions required in an art gallery.
The mechanical equipment in the building included a fan-coil unit for preconditioning and gallery control, a water plant with variable speed drives, and exhaust fans.
IES was able to achieve strict air quality, temperature, and humidity control with the new Reliable Controls system, with RC-Archive providing gallery managers with an ongoing record of building performance.
