BACnet International is the international organization that encourages the successful use of BACnet in building automation and control systems through interoperability testing, educational programs and promotional activities. BACnet International complements the work of other BACnet-related groups whose charters limit their commercial activities. Reliable Controls has been a member since its inception.
The BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) is the European trade association for the application of the global BACnet standard ISO 16484-5. BACnet is the only vendor-independent communication protocol that is specifically designed for building automation.

Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR) is an open and standardized way for electricity providers and facility operators to communicate with each other using a common language over the Internet. This helps utilities maintain grid reliability and enables facility operators to strategically shed loads while controlling costs. The OpenADR Alliance was formed in 2010 by industry stakeholders to foster the development, testing, and deployment of commercial OpenADR.
ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is a building technology society with more than 50,000 members worldwide. The Society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality and sustainability within the industry. Through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow's built environment today. Reliable Controls is a member and sponsor of Vancouver Island Chapter 145.
VIATEC (Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology and Entrepreneurship Council), started in 1989. Our mission is to serve as the one-stop hub that connects people, knowledge and resources to grow and promote the Greater Victoria technology sector (Victoria's biggest industry).
We work closely with our members to offer a variety of events, programs and services. In addition, VIATEC serves as the front door of the local tech sector and as its spokesperson. To better support local innovators, we recently acquired our own building (Fort Tectoria) where we offer flexible and affordable office space to emerging local companies along with a gathering/event space for local entrepreneurs.
